Renunciation of Panamanian Nationality
Applicant must come personally with below documents to our Consulate to begin the process of renouncing the Panamanian nationality.
- Application Form (fillable PDF: complete it on your computer or by hand and print it). It needs to be signed and authenticated at the Consulate, or apostilled at the Hong Kong High Court
- Copy of valid Panamanian passport (only the pages with photo and personal data)
- Copy of Panamanian ID (Cédula)
- Copy of the Panamanian Birth Certificate
Originals of the identification documents need to be presented for validation.
Payments (in cash only at the Consulate): fees apply for the authentication of the application form at the Consulate, and for the courier to send the documents to the relevant department in Panama.
The Consulate will forward the application to the relevant department in Panama for processing, and will notify the applicant once the Certificate or Resolution of renunciation is received.
Processing time is estimated between 6 and 12 months. It may take longer due to public holidays in Panama, or if the relevant departments in Panama request further information or documents.
