The Consulate General will suspend operations whenever the Hong Kong Observatory issues either a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or a Black Rainstorm Warning. The safety of our staff and visitors is our primary concern during such severe weather conditions.
Should the weather warning be downgraded to Typhoon Signal No. 3 or reduced to a Red Rainstorm Warning before 12:00pm, the Consulate will reopen and resume normal consular services at 2:00pm on the same day. However, if these weather warnings remain in effect beyond 2:00pm, the Consulate will remain closed for the remainder of the day and will reopen on the next regular business day.
We strongly advise all individuals to avoid unnecessary travel during Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, as these conditions present significant safety risks. The public should monitor official weather updates from the Hong Kong Observatory for the most current information. When visiting the Consulate after weather warnings have been lifted, please allow additional time for your travel as transportation services may still be affected.
