Request for Certificates, Certifications and Full Copies from Abroad.

To obtain birth, marriage, death, or naturalization certificates, as well as complete copies of records from Panama, please follow one of these steps:

Option 1: Email (Only in Spanish)

Send an email to consulados-pe@tribunal-electoral.gob.pa with the following details:

  • Full name
  • Current Panamanian ID card or passport number
  • Your location (city and country)
  • Type of document requested

The Tribunal Electoral will provide further instructions on processing and fees.

Option 2: Authorize a Representative in Panama

You may authorize a family member, acquaintance, or legal representative to request the document on your behalf through the Tribunal Electoral (Panama’s Civil Registry Office).

Required Steps:

  1. Download the authorization letter template [HERE]
  2. Legalize the authorization letter through one of these methods:
    • Consulate Legalization:
      • Your representative must then make an appointment at Panama’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to endorse the Consul’s signature
    • Apostille:
      • Obtain authentication at the Hong Kong High Court (no further legalization required)
