Transit Visa
The transit visa may be granted for up to a maximum period of twenty-four (24) hours and only authorizes the migrant to remain in the international transit area of the airport, so that they can continue their journey.
A maximum stay of 12 hours in transit at the international airport of Panama is allowed without the need for a visa or entry permit, if your transit is longer than 12 hours or if you need to go through immigration for your flight change, you will be required to demonstrate your permit to enter the country (transit or tourist visa).
The National Immigration Service may admit the boarding of natural foreigners (list of countries) who wish to travel in transit through the Republic of Panama, only in cases where they meet one or more of the following conditions:
- Have a valid Panamanian visa or residence.
- Those who have residence or have a multiple visa duly granted by Canada, the United States of America, Australia, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Singapore and any of the States that make up the European Union.
- Traveling to or returning to a country where they maintain a valid visa or residence permit (with the exception of Haitian nationals).
- Traveling to your country of origin (with the exception of Haitian nationals).

Transit Visa Requirements
- Completed visa application form
- Photocopy of the entire passport (including cover and all blank pages) with a minimum validity of six months.
- Identity document from the country of residence, with a minimum validity of six months.
- Travel itinerary or electronic ticket.
- Two (2) passport sized photos.
- Document proving domicile in the country of destination (applicable for Haitians only).
When the request is for a person who is a minor (under 18 years old), it must be made by one of their parents or whoever has the custody and upbringing with the authorization of the other; or whoever has duly accredited guardianship of the minor.
